I’ve needed new shocks for a long time, but the Wichitoppo trip to Arkansas made it very apparent. Sooo... I finally bought some Bilsteins.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Hopefully they’ll help with the axle hop and chatter-y understeer.

Are those monotubes?

I think monotube Bilsteins are yellow and twin-tube Bilsteins are black, so probably. I want to get a set of B8s for my Mazda3, but the current dampers are fine, so I can’t really justify dropping several hundred dollars on new ones just for fun.

My factory shocks were dying at 80k miles, at 110k they’re just there for show.

The Bilstein 5100s on my truck have made a world of difference.

But literally anything would have been better as all 4 shocks could have been around for a couple hundred thousand miles (all four were blown when RamblinRover and I pulled them off)

Tubular lower control arms helped my wheel hop a lot, and it doesn’t sound like it bottoms out over bumps anymore. I went with the founders 3 piece bushing setup

Adjustable or no?

I didn’t need adjustables because I didn’t plan on lowering mine so the founders worked perfect. I would spend the extra on UMI or similar if I was going to get adjustables. Founders strut tower brace is nice also for the price

Yeah. I’m a big fan of UMI’s stuff, but I couldn’t justify their coilover kit. I’ll probably buy their triangulated chassis braces soon.
